Seasonal Maintenance Plan Seasonal maintenance checks by our trained and qualified technicians ensure that... • HVAC equipment runs efficiently |

| General Maintenance Information | |
| Due to the new Energy Code, the HVAC system is the most critical system to maintain in the home. If the system is not maintained regularly and properly, indoor air quality issues may develop. For example, in a home that is too damp there could be mold and mildew problems. A home that is too dry may cause damage to wood floors and furniture. | ![]() |
HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilator) It is imperative that your HRV is well cleaned so that it can properly remove excess moisture from the home. You will need to check the filters every one to two months. The Core needs to be cleaned every six months. See HRV diagram at right. |

| Furnaces
In order to move the air in your home evenly, the furnace filters must be changed regularly. If you are using standard fiberglass filters they must be changed monthly. An easy way to remember to change your fiberglass filter is to do it when you pay your gas bill. If you choose to use a pleated filter, it is recommended that you change the filter when you can no longer see light through it if held up to a 60-Watt bulb. It should be noted that a dirty air filter will take away the efficiency of both your furnace and your air conditioning unit. |
|
| Humidifiers
Once a year the water panel should be replaced. At this time it would also be good to do a visual check of all equipment drains to make sure that there is not a buildup of sediment or calcium that will cause an overflow of any equipment and do damage. |
|
| If your equipment is not maintained properly it will affect its performance and efficiency. Possible safety issues may also result. We are confident that when maintained properly, the HVAC system installed in your new home will give you and your family the comfort you desire. | |
